Tamar Oostrom

I am an assistant professor in the Department of Economics at The Ohio State University and a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research

My areas of specialization are health economics and public economics. My research focuses on the role of public policy and innovation in health care markets. Recent projects have focused on the effect of representation in clinical trials and the relationship between religiosity and deaths of despair. 

I earned my PhD in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2020.
